Guys I’m probably late to the party and I have no idea if someone’s mentioned this before but well
So J.K. Rowling used “Dumbledor”, the old colloquialism for a bumblebee for the name of the headmaster Dumbledore because she imagined him wandering around the castle and humming to himself.
But
Dumbledor is also a colloquialism for a certain beetle, usually known as a cockchafer.
Also we know Dumbledore is gay (or at least, just fell in love with a dude).
Is J.K. Rowling sniggering somewhere to herself?
I really hope she’s not also imagining him wandering around the castle and chafing… well, let’s leave it at that.

Chris Gerringer knows that feel. And it turns out, several different characters from across the geek globe know that feel too, linking them in ways that brings them all closer together. Whether it’s mourning dead parents with Batman and Harry Potter, tight living spaces with Pikachu and Aladdin’s Genie, or the demoted scientific status of the Triceratops and Pluto. I know most (hip) people have probably seen some of these before, but Chris’ series is so endearing and so right fucking on that it deserves one last look. I hope you know that feel too.
